No one Lines up for a Boring Roller Coaster

Life is like a roller coaster, full of ups and downs, and we are currently on a downward slope. We haven’t hit the bottom quite yet, but it’s definitely coming up. On the bright side, we will start climbing up right after, so we just need to hang in there and embrace the journey for now.

Being in self-isolation and staying physically distant for over a month now is tough. What's even tougher is handling the uncertainty that comes with this pandemic.

No one really knows when it's going to end and whether things will ever go back to 'normal' or what the new 'normal' will be. Who knew that the Coronavirus would put so much into perspective?
These challenging times are reminding us to embrace the highs and lows of life.

By now, many of us have gone through the 7 stages of grief and are at 'Acceptance' now. Some of us have maybe even moved to reinvention and hope for a brighter future.

Some of us might be having a hard time and slowly struggling through the steps. Some of us have experienced losses that are just too hard to bear. Not everyone has the luxury right now to focus solely on self-improvement and self-care, and that's okay.

Picking up new hobbies and side-projects might not be a priority for everyone either. Sometimes just breathing and moving through the hard times at your own pace is enough.

When things seem too tough to bear, remind yourself that it's all part of the process, it's one of the necessary stages you need to go through and, just like anything else, it will pass.

Hang in there, it’s a cycle, you just have to be able to move with the flow.

Soon we will all figure out how to adjust to the new 'normal' and many of us will even find opportunities to thrive. But for now, rough patches are a necessary reminder that without the challenges, we would not be able to appreciate the highs.

If you find yourself in a negative headspace more often than not, teach yourself to flip the script.

It's time to fall into gratitude, and be thankful for the experiences that you are going through. Circumstances might not be ideal right now, but you are learning, persevering and growing from this experience. Through these challenges, you are awarded an opportunity to get better and stronger than some people never get. Look for the silver linings.

Some people's roller coaster ride of life is not as thrilling, and it might be even much slower or shorter than yours. Count your blessings.

Your roller coaster ride of life is full of moments that take your breath away and some people don't ever get to experience that. You are lucky because you get a chance to grow, and live an exciting life. Even though an exciting roller coaster comes with consequences, it is worth it.

Embracing the ups and downs is part of our learning journey. That's the beauty of it all.

Stop thinking of your days as good or bad. If you have an opportunity to wake up and get up, your day is already good and can only get better from the moment you open your eyes.

When you don't feel happy look at the underlying desires and accompanying thoughts that you have and evaluate them. Do they align with each other? Some should shift, some should stay and some should probably be let go.

If you want to ride an exciting roller coaster of a life, you will need to prepare for the consequences like hard work, sleepless nights, disappointments, uncertainty, and stress.

These lows are all part of a great life and they get you to the highs like freedom, success, joy, wealth and excitement. You just have to put in the work.

If you want to have something that you've never had, you will need to do something that you've never done. You will have to get uncomfortable, and it might feel like one of those lows, but it's not.

Being uncomfortable is really a privilege if you think about it because it is an opportunity that prepares you for success.

So it's time to appreciate those moments of struggle more and fall in love with the process. You know that some of those moments are fleeting, so that's only another reason to appreciate them even more.

Being able to appreciate the difficult times and embrace those times with a smile on your face is also key. Growth is humbling.

When the situation is dire and it seems like there is no way out, remind yourself that it's not permanent and it will pass.

It might be the time to go inward and evaluate how far you've come and the reasons you are where you are.

What got you here in the first place, might not be the reason you want to stay, so it's time to pivot and that's okay.

Remind yourself that the situation you are in is not permanent and you have all the power to change the outcome of your ride.

Rather than falling into the negativity trap when things don’t work out as planned, ask yourself what you can learn, smile, and move on.

No matter how dire the situation, everything leads to an opportunity. You just have to find the silver lining. There might not be much right now, but it is always there.

Every obstacle presents an opportunity to test ourselves and to become better.

Every obstacle provides an opportunity for creativity and improvement of our conditions.

So let’s focus on seeing opportunities in every disaster and let’s turn them into education, skillset and progress.
